                             Notes from the arena champ.

Happy Holidays!  I hope you all are able to take some time off and enjoy a feast with 
family and friends.

My Full Helm is off to Sleeping God, who bludgeoned his way through my Avoid barricade 
and challenged me -- favs and all (I assume) -- on his way out the door.  He should 
have slept in and fought at night.I'm going the DA route, myself.  Rumor is that the 
my favorite weapon is the fastest in the game, which is obviously important for my 
style.  But when the commission delivers an engraved Small Shield, you use it.  
Right?

Sadly, this is likely Yuppie Idiom's last turn in Mordant.  Riff-Raff made the proper 
sacrifices to the RUG's, but honestly they rarely work.  I'm not hopeful.  Too bad, as 
I have enjoyed ruling the arena during the recent renaissance.  There will certainly 
be another Yuppie / Bourbon / TEABAG / etc team on the way, but I'm not privy to that 
info.

I shall leave it to Coach Joe, Destitute Noble, and whoever runs Hot Rods to hold back 
the Black Tide.  I'm off to meet Sleeping God at the Isle.  He's going to show me 
where all the best Nap Pods are.

                                      SPY REPORT

     Busy, busy, busy, lots of things happening in MORDANT this turn, and let's start 
with a look at some of the teams.  It seems the training can make the difference, as 
BLACK PANTHEON is pushed out of top team by FANTASIA, who came from 2nd with a 2-3-0 
this turn.  Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown 
for EMU'S SPAWN, whose 1-1-0 this turn dropped them by 5 into 18th.  ENTERPRISE 
stable has parlayed this turn's 4-1-1 into a 8 space move up the rankings.  This 
brings them up to 9th place.  Good work, guys!  The HOT RODS guild has had a 3-1-0 
turn and deserves to be watched in the future.  You never know where this kind of 
thing can lead.  And let's see, BLACK DOVE fought H'TES and gained 28 points and 
contributed to BLACK PANTHEON's 2-2-0.  H'TES has lost to BLACK DOVE, falling 27 
points, while helping make FREAK BROTHERS a 2-3-0 turn.  This turn YOU DO YOU Dark 
Arena Challenged BLACK ORC in what was MORDANT's Title bout.  The attempts to 
dethrone the Duelmaster have failed, and YOU DO YOU remains MORDANT's top warrior for 
another turn.  Can someone confirm a rumor for me?  I hear the top team makes their 
losing fighters do dishes at Conan's Place until they win.  Maybe?   
     I tell you, a green quarterstaff lasts longer than a seasoned sapling.  A basher 
friend of mine assures me this is true.  I also notice that the SIMPLY DESSERTS 
stable was the most avoided team this turn.  Come on MORDANT, what are you afraid of? 
And avoiding SIMPLY DESSERTS more than any other team we find FANTASIA.  MORDANT, are 
we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing?  QUANTUM PARTICLE from ENTERPRISE 
took a risk this turn by bravely challenging up 31 points in a challenge against 
SWEAR BEAR.  And now nobody knows where SWEAR BEAR is right now, after giving QUANTUM 
PARTICLE 27 points worth of recognition.  As quiet chuckles rise behind me.   
     A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once.  Wise men know this to 
be true.  The grave that YUPPIE IDIOMS 201 had dug for YOU DO YOU may yet be filled 
with the body of BLACK ORC.  Seldom are the likes of this to be seen.  YOU DO YOU 
lives still!  The manager of FANTASIA will not be pleased to learn that MORLA, a 
5-1-0 fighter, has been killed at the hands of ENTERPRISE's RED SHIRT #1.  Conan's 
Place declares a free round for GRETA and all of EMU'S SPAWN, for having revenged 
ZOMBIE SQUAD's GHOUL for killing one of their comrades.  Is it really true that 
MORDANT has more dishwashers per capita that fighters?  Just thought I'd ask...   
     I like this place, MORDANT, the taverns have old wine, and young serving girls.
