                                      SPY REPORT

     Greetings warriors!  It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the 
clash and bustle of the weekly NIANIA games.  Former top team RESURRECTION was 
unseated this week as HARLEQUINS moved up from 3rd ranking to take the top spot with 
a 4-0-0 record for the round.  There were bitter words at THE WILD CARDS' guildhouse 
after a 0-0-0 showing this week which dropped the stable into 11th.  Dark Arena 
anyone?  Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner!  Witness how 
this week OF WOLF & DROW went 2-0-0 to move up 7 in the rankings.  Did only my eyes 
note the 4-0-0 record which HARLEQUINS managed to post this round?  I don't doubt 
that such a record will draw challengers!  KODON caught the eye of many in the 
gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested EMBEZZLING SCRIBE and was awarded 20 
points in recognition.  In one of the week's more notable duels, LAW put down 
ASKELON, causing it to lose 10 points of recognition in the process.  Who here was 
not present for the title fight this week as RHYR boldly challenged TALL COTTON in 
order to strive for the Duelmasters honors?  This time victory fell to the grasp of 
the usurper.  All hail RHYR, Duelmaster of NIANIA!  Would you believe that over half 
of the old women in NIANIA seem to feel that they could fight better than you 
gladiators?   
     Many and various are the arts of battle.  In NIANIA "art" is a word that has 
long since passed from the language!  NIANIA, city of gladiators!  Mighty among the 
names of thy guilds is RESURRECTION, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the 
weekly duels.  Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent 
the better part of last week avoiding RESURRECTION.  Indeed it was DEADLY DANCERS.  
Mighty fighters cannot but expect competition from those below.  KALISTA take 
warning!  You have more than a few enemies in NIANIA.  As a gladiator gets older, the 
icy grip of fear lays hold of hers heart.  True, QUEMBY?  Who could miss your "brave" 
challenge of KALISTA?  The Fates are not kind to the cowardly, as evidenced by the 
fact that QUEMBY was overcame by KALISTA.  And who can now doubt that KALISTA is a 
hardy opponent?  CHYLEYA must really be harboring a grudge against the METAL CHURCH 
guild!  Merciless, 20 challenged down START THE FIRE points this week to duel with 
she.  The weight of the challenge fell hard upon START THE FIRE and predictably she 
was bested by CHYLEYA.  This is how to arouse the anger of an entire guild!   
     Vendettas.  Bloodied blades and broken spears.  Indeed the city has seen more 
than its fair share of red in recent times.  SUNLESS SKY has sworn to take up 
religion upon living to tell of hers recent bout with the Dark Arena horrors.  A rare 
thing indeed!  Walk proud, warriors of AB-NORMALS!  By striking down GOSERERER you 
have avenged the honor of your dead.  Your virtue is known to all in NIANIA.  Some 
say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms.  One thing is sure, better a dagger 
in hand then a sword on the belt!   
     If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times 
already in NIANIA.  Nice atmosphere you have here!  Sadly warriors, now longer can I 
keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city.  Depart I must and soon!  Till 
next we meet remember - the pen is mightier than the sword, but a maul is a different
