                             Notes from the arena champ.

Well, Hiram, it was a short duel, but I thnak you for propelling me to the 
Duelmaster's seat.  I'm sure I won't be here long.  I've got a spotty W/L record at 
best and never really expected to be here... And of course if our previous DM hadn't 
trundled off to immortality last turn, I wouldn't be here either.

I don't really have any great words of wisdom for y'all... Just keep your head down, 
and your weapons sharp (or clean if they don't have edges).

See you all on the sands... Just hope I can survive til I earn immortality for myself.

                                      SPY REPORT

     If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of 
NIANIA brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too.  Later days, DEEP ELVES, since THE 
WILD CARDS took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news.  Gee, I'm 
impressed, a 4-0-0 is nice, but don't get cocky, THE GOLDEN FISH, the Fates teach 
humility, and the Fates are proud.  Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see 
MATTIMEO win a fight and gain 53 points, terribly.  Tsk, tsk, TALL COTTON beat RAM 
SHAM and RAM SHAM lost 14 points.  You're breakin' my heart.  Looks like NIANIA has 
some guts at least, BULLETPRUF MONK the Duelmaster was this turn's most-challenged 
warrior.  MATTHIAS challenged NIANIA's Duelmaster for a shot at the throne.  And it's 
out with the old, in with the new, as MATTHIAS takes the Title and last week's bar 
tab from the old Duelmaster.  Heh, heh.  Kickbacks and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, 
how else do you think some of these guys win their fights?  Skill?  Ha!   
     He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward.  NIANIA, 
I am losing what little hope I had in you.  AB-NORMALS the most avoided team?  What 
insult will suffice, I cannot say.  And who led the way in this mass act of 
cowardice?  Let's see, well, whatcha know?  It was DEEP ELVES.  Ha ha ha ha!   
     Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and 
gone, and get to see if their team cared.  VULGAR UNICORN has cause to pause today, 
as JUDGEIE NEVERMIND was sent to the Dark Arena, and came back--though not in the 
best of moods, I'll wager.  And what a stunning loss we have here, boys and girls, 
ELLADAN of DEEP ELVES has added the final loss to his 7-4-1.  Tee hee!  Titanium 
shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is developing these kinds of 
weapons?   
     There's got to be a better place in NIANIA to get a drink than Jim's Tap Room!  
Any suggestions?  Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you have too.
