                                      SPY REPORT

     Hail and well met warriors of NIANIA!  Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes, 
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari.  Fortune did not smile upon STRANGE PLANET 
this time out who this turn suffered a fall into 12th position in the wake of a 0-1-0 
round.  Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner!  Witness how 
this week NIGHT COURT went 3-0-0 to move up 4 in the rankings.  STAUBACH caught the 
eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as she skillfully bested GODS OF WRATH and 
was awarded 21 points in recognition.  In one of the week's more notable duels, JUBAL 
put down HITMAN, causing her to lose 16 points of recognition in the process.  This 
time out CHYLEYA made hers bid for the throne as she challenged GONGAN in an all out 
contest of skill for possession of the title!  This time victory fell to the grasp of 
the usurper.  All hail CHYLEYA, Duelmaster of NIANIA!  Would you believe that over 
half of the old women in NIANIA seem to feel that they could fight better than you 
gladiators?   
     But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades 
that is city NIANIA.  My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in NIANIA these 
days is WORTHLESS MANAGERS 3.  At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid 
them.  If you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any 
of SONS OF THE STAR last week.  Busy avoiding WORTHLESS MANAGERS 3?  Mighty fighters 
cannot but expect competition from those below.  E.A. POE take warning!  You have 
more than a few enemies in NIANIA.  I can not but mention with disdain the name of 
CLAUDIUS who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 13 points below in the 
rankings.  I thought CLAUDIUS showed great skill and promise when he overcame E.A. 
POE.  All right, so I slept through it!  Big deal!   
     What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his 
foe's mortality?  This week marked the last days of GOSOSOSOS who at 12-13-0 was 
dispatched to the Dark Arena by the command of RESURRECTION's demanding management.  
Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms.  One thing is sure, better a 
dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!   
     If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times 
already in NIANIA.  Nice atmosphere you have here!  More than a sharp eye must I 
keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well!  The endless paths of Alastari

I'll be honest with you -- I didn't expect to be sitting in this chair quite so soon. 
But here I am, 14 wins and 7 losses into this blood-soaked career, and the throne is 
mine. They say a Basher's path to glory is paved with broken bones and dented shields. 
I say it's paved with whoever stepped in front of me last turn.

Gods of Wrath, you've been haunting this arena for nineteen wins. Nineteen. The crowd 
loves you, Metal Church has built something real, and you've earned every point on 
that record. None of that saved you when I came crashing through your guard. That's 
not disrespect -- that's the Duelmaster's chair talking.

Speaking of chairs -- ALL-IN vacated this one on the way to the Isle. The Wild Cards 
sent a champion to Advanced Duels, and Niania is a little less interesting for it. 
Safe travels, ALL-IN. You held this throne long enough to earn that voyage.

So what does the arena look like from up here?

Worthless Managers 3 is the story of the moment. Ten wins over three turns, top team 
standing, and The Dealer just killed Niloeth in a Challenge that wasn't close. That 
team is hunting, and Of Wolf & Drow is paying the price. I'll be keeping an eye on 
that guildhouse.

Resurrection is making noise too. Chyleya went for the throne last turn and I respect 
the ambition -- eighteen wins will make a warrior bold. JAR meanwhile roughed up Ica 
Brightlite badly enough to jump 28 points in the rankings. Those two are the ones to 
watch coming up through the Challenger Champions.

Closer to home: Talgen, we need to talk. You're sitting at 5-7-2 and Madman Overture 
just ran over you in a Challenge. I know the sands are unforgiving, but you're a 
Harlequin. Find the fire.

Finally: Niloeth of Of Wolf & Drow, ten wins and nine losses, gone now. Pour one out
