                             Notes from the arena champ.

     It's no bull that I am leaving, with the five political points for my first, and 
last, Duelmaster Title pushing me into Lord Protectorship. I will leave for the Isle 
immediately. I will miss my teammate Bulldogs and those final free brews at The 
Bulldog Inn. I go, knowing at the Isle that The Lady will assign me valuable work 
befitting of my 15-8(+2)-11-15-17-9-11 Slashing abilities. Adios.

                                      SPY REPORT

     You elder fighters surely remember me.  The younger ones may call me Olaf 
Modeen.  I return to ARUAK CITY once again!  Bein' on top is great while it lasts, 
ANIMAL FARM.  But how many friends do you have now?  Phhbltt!  Too much drinking and 
too little dodging gave ANIMAL FARM a 1-3-0!  I got a good laugh out of it!  Ya gotta 
be quick on yer feet!  Keep your elbow off the table!  Thrust!  Block out the pain!  
THE RED HAND is now ranked 2nd with a 2-0-0 turn.  It seems so recently people were 
saying BULLDOGS was washed up, finished.  But 3-0-0 moved them up 2.  I guess they're 
washed no more...  Major screwup at THE MYRMIDONS.  ADONIS lost 14 points to CORNERED 
WEASEL.  Some new strategies, perhaps?  Maybe ADONIS will provide more easy wins...  
What a role model for ARUAK CITY's young 'uns!  NO BULL becomes Duelmaster, but don't 
bother to fight no more!  I can barely restrain my enthusiam for THE RED HAND's 
outstanding member, Duelmaster JON THANE.  I suppose you want to hear some rumors and 
dirty gossip about your fellow fighters?  Tough!   
     If at first you don't succeed, avoid.  That'll get you in the Spyreports.  ARUAK 
CITY thinks ROHAN and their 73-87-5 is too much!  If at first you don't succeed, give 
up...  In my day, no team with a 71-85-5 would scare me off!  What's the problem, 
BULLDOGS?  How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior, TURBO 
LUNGER!  Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you.  BIRDLEGG PITTMAN 
expects the easy win by going 16 points down.  DEAR ABBY will find this a hard 
lesson!  BIRDLEGG PITTMAN bested DEAR ABBY.  I bet BIRDLEGG PITTMAN could beat 
two-year-olds, too.  Well, KRILL CAVALRY knows who to set their sights on.  Keep 
challenging up 46 points, TRAZE, and I won't have to write about you much longer.  
PUMPKIN PYTHON always accepts those kind of challenges...  TRAZE did pretty good last 
week in beating PUMPKIN PYTHON to get 34 points.  Why did PUMPKIN PYTHON lose, you 
ask?  Simple:  she wasn't good enough.  DODGER didn't quite know what to make of a 
challenge he received from MIRA of THE BLUES, who is 19 points below him.  MIRA 
perhaps got hers just desserts, seeing as she beat DODGER and ended up with 29 
recognition points.  I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of fights 
that EOWYN gets in.  She fights people like LOSER, 10 points below.  I thought EOWYN 
showed great skill and promise when she subdued LOSER.  All right, so I slept through 
it!  Big deal!   
     A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing.  Some fighters 
don't accept this.  The best do.  Some people in ARUAK CITY think ANIMAL FARM was too 
harsh when they sent BROWN BUG (3-1-0) to the Dark Arena.  Them's the breaks, I say.  
TINDLE, with his forgettable 6-7-0,  was dealt death by BLUE BONNET in a forgettable 
match.  NAMED 03 didn't seem to mind very much.  How long have I been here?  I got 
people to see, places to go...   
     Well, I'm pretty much through.  You guys need to get back practicing.  Are you 
as tired of reading this as I am of writing it?  Actually, I guess I'm writing it
