                             Notes from the arena champ.

Duelmaster's Column DM29

Just to clear things up a bit.  Just because some of you knuckleheads
around this town seem to need it:  You can CALL anyone anything you
want.  Sure, you can say "He's a champion" or "The best there is, that
one."  You could also call a Piebald an Appaloosa, a pale ale a
porter, the Bloke a spry sproutling or even your mom pretty.  That
just doesn't make it so.  So, for example, last cycle the low IQ
Commission "savants" called Entitled Citizen the Duelmaster.  More
like Unentitled Ditizen.

But most of you knew.  It was really yours truly.  The only data point
that matters in terms of greatness = recognition points.  I mean, what
a joke.  Half the freaking arena was ahead of that dumb Total Parry in
recognition.

Anyways, so, as the true and rightful Duelmaster, I greet you, my
loyal, royal and submissive subjects.  As you were.

Drop The Soap

                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings, Lapurians, on this warm sunny arena day. Today we honor inductees number 6 
and 7 for the year, ENTITLED CITIZEN and ZAGRID. Master Beru's veteran warrior is a 2-
time title holder and defensive master. I heard a rumor that Visionist's warrior is 
actually a mutant created from two dead warriors. Rumor or not, he fought well, except 
against the occasional lunger or basher. Both have earned their new title and status. 
We hail them both and wish them well at the Isle. Okay let's find out what happened on 
their last round in the arena.

Fifteen teams in the ranks. Yup Neon and his velvet warriors have returned from the 
shadows. Welcome back! From those 15 teams we have 22 fights on the lists, with 5 
challenges and 17 matchups. We had one death: a convicted thief. Unfortunately, 
ENTITLED CITIZEN fought and defeated the Duelmaster Drop the Soap, so that means a new 
title holder this week and in the end it came down to former champ BRINE SUSPECT of 
BLUE HERRINGS fighting GRAKUS of MID EARTH, with Mr. Blue's salty warrior easily 
defeating Visionist's upstart warrior in a 1 minute uneven melee. All Hail the new 
Duelmaster!

In team news, Vlad and his ALMOST EXACTLY crew held onto the top spot despite a 2-2-0 
result. Leaping from 6th to 2nd is Poke' and his MONsters, who impressed with a 5-0-0 
record. Rounding out the top 3 is Master Beru and his Dark Army, using a 3-1-0 to move 
up from 5th. The Team on the Move is Neon Necromancer's bunch, who gained 47 points, 
and the Most Avoided Team is of course the Bloke and his Avoid ME! trio, who received 
12 avoids. The next closest is Mid Earth with five.

Challenge fights...

POX of AVOID ME! challenged SNORLAX of POKE' MON, with the Bloke's diseased warrior 
being handily defeated by Poke's monster warrior in 4 minute gruesome match, and with 
the loss, he lost 10 points to became this week Biggest Loser.

WINDLESS WHISPER of ALMOST EXACTLY challenged LITTLE FISHY of BLUE HERRINGS, with 
Vlad's mumbling warrior devastating Mr. Blue's minnow warrior in a 1 minute contest, 
and gaining 17 points was the Biggest Winner.

CAVE OGRE RAGER of WOODVALE FALLS challenged LOPUNNY of POKE' MON, with G's fiendish 
warrior being bested by Poke's creatural warrior in a 4 minute brawl.

LECHBUG of WOODVALE FALLS challenged BRIAR of POKE' MON, with G's mysterious warrior 
being vanquished by Poke's thorny warrior in a 1 minute fight.

My Fight of the Week goes to 50ML of BUFFALO TRACE '25 fighting FROSLASS of POKE' MON, 
with Mr. B's strange warrior being overcome by Poke's fairy warrior in a 3 minute 
gruesome match.

Other arena notes...
This week's favorite is HOUN DOG, who was made famous by SKUNK.
The most popular style was once again Bashing, the most successful was Slashing and 
Total Parry, and the least successful was Bashing and Parry Riposte.

Ahhh we have another invitee. Congrats to DROP THE SOAP, who we honor next time. And
