                             Notes from the arena champ.

Another week. Another ghost in armor.

They call them "stand-ins." I call them placeholders for cowards.

Death's Army didn't show. Again. The rest of Kati-Tei pretends not to notice. The 
crowd barely stirs anymore. It's like fighting in a tomb, echoing with names that used 
to mean something.

I didn't even bother to learn the name of this latest stand-in. Why should I? He 
wasn't a warrior -- he was a time slot. Two minutes of motion before the sand took him 
back.

This isn't pride talking. This isn't arrogance. This is boredom sharpened to rage.

I bleed for a city that doesn't care to watch. I kill for an arena that's forgotten 
how to fight. I hold a title that no one dares challenge -- not out of respect, but 
because the spirit here is dead.

And when Death's Army hides behind silence, what does that make them?
A name without meaning.
A threat without teeth.
A lie whispered by a manager who once pretended to matter.

So fine. Let them keep avoiding me. Let them send their scraps and stand-ins. I'll 
keep taking them apart until this place finally collapses under the weight of its own 
apathy.

But make no mistake -- I'm not done.
Not yet.

                                      SPY REPORT

     Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day, 
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again!  Nothing is certain in KATI-TEI, with changing 
loyalties, changing Duelmasters.  Write this down:  new top team--NAWLINS RU2.  Those 
betting on THE LOSERS lost their shirt, as THE LOSERS lost their fighting abilities:  
0-1-0.  What's a move up by 5 you ask?  (alright, maybe you didn't ask)  Cause for 
celebration, according to FURIOUS FOOD.  Say what you will about blind luck and dirty 
fighting, but NAWLINS RU2 will tell you 121-74-5 is nothing to laugh at...  Practice 
pays for FRENCH QTR., who pummelled DUSTMITE, to pocket 19 points.  Win some, lose 
some.  Speaking of which, FRENCH QTR. was winsome, after beating DUSTMITE and seeing 
him lose 15 points.  In KATI-TEI, nothing is permanent (except Death), and we find 
ourselves a new Duelmaster, VALERIA.  So who's the team that's been walking into 
taverns last week and ordering milk?  Sounds like a PR stunt to me.   
     So much to report, so little time!  Perhaps the warriors of KILLERS should take 
up some hobbies, as they are the most avoided team...  Like a pup with its tail 
between its legs, NAWLINS RU2 scurried away from KILLERS.  Oh, the shame!   
     Like the wind whispering among the pines, do hearest I many disquieting rumors.  
Questions are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena.  A 
certain tavern in KATI-TEI would I avoid!   
     Leave me now, you base fools!  As if buffeted by forces of nature beyond my 
control, I must take my leave of this place.  KATI-TEI, I leave you now.  The 
Duelmaster has agreed to foot my bill at The Welcome Wench.  'Til next time--
