                                    TEAM SPOTLIGHT

                           THE GAMEMASTER'S FINAL CURTAIN!

"Ladies and gentlemen! Warriors and managers! Masked marvels and magnificent failures!
WELCOME to Stormcrowe!"

The Gamemaster strode onto the stage, microphone in hand, flashing his broadest grin.

"Tonight, we have TWO shows for the price of one! First, the usual bloodshed and
questionable managerial decisions. THEN, my friends, we crown the champion of MASKED
MAYHEM!"

"Let's start with the throne!"

                                      **********

Shastar Vidya of Vault of Broken Hand remains your Duelmaster! Horrach of Dead Silence
stepped up for a title challenge, but Shastar sent him packing in a single minute.
Nine wins, one loss, and 132 recognition points! Not bad for someone whose opponents
apparently keep forgetting which end of the weapon is dangerous!

And speaking of Horrach, he's headed to the Isle of the Eye! Shieldgore of Darque
Forces joins him in graduation, although his farewell involved getting thoroughly
thrashed by Uktor of Of Wolf & Giant. Uktor challenged up an astonishing 42 points and
walked away victorious! Shieldgore gets immortality, Uktor gets bragging rights, and
the audience gets its money's worth! Big Ben of Going Berserk has also received his
invitation to Advanced Duelmasters, departing after next turn.

"Now, let's see who made some NOISE!" Philanthropists claimed the current top team
honors with an 11-4 record over three turns, while Misfit Toys K and The Redacted 01
each posted impressive 4-1 performances. The Redacted 01 led the recognition gains
with 49 points, followed by Draco with 45.

Rastaban of Draco delivered one of the evening's biggest upsets, flattening Bulls of
Going Berserk despite entering the fight 32 recognition points behind. Meanwhile,
Angel Martin of Rockford Files made Eltanin regret challenging down 15 points. That's
what we call a bad investment, folks! Rev. Bubba Flavel of Misfit Toys K settled a
bloodfeud against Crimper of The Redacted 01, avenging Porn-Opoly's death. The
Reverend apparently believes in forgiveness, but only AFTER administering a
substantial beating.

"And what about our brave managers? Surely nobody was hiding?" The Gamemaster
consulted his cards. "Well, well! Uniquie One was the most avoided team, with Draco
leading the charge in avoiding them! Vasterpol of The Redacted 01 attracted the most
challenges. Popularity and danger go hand in hand around here!" No new deaths came
from regular arena combat, though five unfortunate souls met their ends in the Dark
Arena. Apparently, some managers decided that the final contest turn was an excellent
occasion for a little roster housekeeping.

                                      **********

"AND NOW, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!"

The Gamemaster waved toward an enormous scoreboard as the curtains parted.

"Ten turns! Countless challenges! A mountain of victories, a few spectacular
disasters, and enough questionable strategy to fill a Commission training manual! The
Masked Mayhem contest has reached its conclusion!"

"AND THE WINNER IS... TRIPWIRE OF OF WOLF & GIANT!" The Gamemaster threw both arms
into the air.

"ONE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN POINTS! A commanding fifteen-point victory! Let's hear it for
our Masked Mayhem champion!" The crowd erupted as the Gamemaster gestured toward the
top of the scoreboard.

"And don't overlook that race for second! OAB's Draco finished with 102, Otis and
Rockford Files grabbed third with 101, and La Guillotine's Going Berserk landed fourth
with an even 100! Three managers separated by TWO points! Now THAT'S entertainment!"

"Several managers finished with a flourish, too! Draco, The Redacted 01,
Philanthropists, and Misfit Toys K each scored fourteen points in our final round.
Unfortunately for the pursuers, Tripwire had already built a mountain of a lead, and
nobody brought enough rope!" The Gamemaster adjusted his jacket and gave the crowd one
last dazzling smile.

"To every manager who entered, thank you for making Masked Mayhem a spectacle worth
remembering! Some of you conquered the competition. Some survived it. And some of
you... well, there's always next time!"

"Congratulations to Tripwire, our MASKED MAYHEM CHAMPION! Until our next contest, keep
those blades sharp, those masks polished, and those warriors ALIVE!"

He bowed deeply as the curtains fell.

"GOOD NIGHT, STORMCROWE!"

                                      **********

Note from Master Darque: I will have a few others look over the scoring to ensure
there are no mistakes. A finalized list and prizes will be posted to Chatzy on
Saturday, October 31, when the Stormcrowe newsletter typically updates.

                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

I've been super quiet in here over the last nine arena cycles. It is not in my nature
to be loud or boisterous. I prefer to meditate before a fight, visualize my opponents
moves, then clearly dominate them as I get to their position before they get to mine.
It is largely worked in here.

That said, since nobody will see this until after the final arena cycle in the masked
warrior contest, I can declare that I am the Masked Warrior for Vault of Broken Hand.
I am also in the lead for the Masked Warrior Champion, by my calculations. Time will
tell as the official figures are hidden until the final reveal. But if you all want
it, then Profound, Tasty Lacey, Dennis Becker, Uktor (unconfirmed), and Gate Keeper
(unconfirmed) will need to hope I lose and they win and also own the tiebreakers. Gate
Keeper is the only one of those that can challenge me, so you know I'll be avoiding
them.

Good Luck, Ahringol's Speed, and may the soles of your feet never touch the ground at
the same time.

                                          -- Your Duelmaster,
                                             Shastar Vidya
                                             Vault of Broken Hand

                                      SPY REPORT

If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
STORMCROWE brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Later days, OF WOLF & GIANT,
since PHILANTHROPISTS took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news.
MISFIT TOYS K turned their 4-1-0 turn into a 7th place rank in the listings this
turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Gee, I'm impressed, a
4-1-0 is nice, but don't get cocky, THE REDACTED 01, the Fates teach humility, and
the Fates are proud. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see RASTABAN win a
fight and gain 32 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, RASTABAN beat BULLS and BULLS lost 24
points. You're breakin' my heart. HORRACH challenged STORMCROWE's Duelmaster for a
shot at the throne. And if variety is the spice of life, STORMCROWE may be getting
bland, as SHASTAR VIDYA stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood
today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you,
STORMCROWE?
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward.
STORMCROWE, I am losing what little hope I had in you. UNIQUIE ONE the most avoided
team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And who led the way in this mass act
of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was DRACO. Ha ha ha ha! VASTERPOL
was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the DM insulted or
feared? Heh, heh. Looks like time for laurels or hemlock, SHIELDGORE was challenged
by UKTOR, who was ranked 42 points below her. My sides still hurt from laughing
about SHIELDGORE losing and giving UKTOR 32 points of recognition. Ha ha ha ha!! I
guess I can give a little credit to LOOPER of BUSHWOOD '25 for challenging up by 18
to RUSTY NAIL. LOOPER lost to get 32 points of recognition. And we have ELTANIN in
a challenge, going down 15 points for the fight. Guess what? I thought ELTANIN
showed great skill and promise when she was overcame by ANGEL MARTIN. All right, so
I slept through it! Big deal!
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. A big yahoo goes out to REV. BUBBA FLAVEL this turn,
for revenging MISFIT TOYS K's bloodfeud against THE REDACTED 01's warrior CRIMPER.
Heh, heh, heh. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is
developing these kinds of weapons?
What does the STORMCROWE arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Well, I've had enough of this
drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Glad
to see the back of this place-- Snide Clemens

The final round of Madness is October 27, The Consortium's birthday. (How many of you

the contest as a birthday gift on that day. He thinks you all are nicer than he
originally thought. May the force be with you all. -- The Overworked Consortium Scribe
