                             Notes from the arena champ.

Listen, Rocanis, while I flap my bardic inspirations!  What motley congregation of 
braggarts struts before me, clad in borrowed valor as though steel alone could furnish 
courage? I have seen kitchen boys with more mettle in their marrow than this parade of 
peacocks, who crow loud at dawn yet flee at dusk.

Juniper flexes as though his sinews were spun by gods--yet I've marked him blanch at 
the mere whisper of sharpened iron. Marlboro Man swaggers, drunk not on wine but on 
his own hollow legend, a tale oft told and never proven. And you, Lump-O-Coal, with 
your helm askew and with a skewer still--pray tell, is confusion thy chosen tactic, or 
merely thy 
nature?

You call yourselves gladiators? Nay, you are but actors in dented armor, playing at 
war whilst true steel laughs at your pretense. When next you enter the sands, do try 
to die with dignity--it would be your first convincing performance.

For my part, I shall watch with keen delight, for nothing so entertains as the fall of 
men who mistake noise for greatness.

                                      SPY REPORT

     Welcome ROCANIS.  I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well.  Many the fights have 
I fought here.  The celebrations, the disappointments...  Ya gotta be quick on yer 
feet!  Keep your elbow off the table!  Thrust!  Block out the pain!  BARDIC FLAPPERY 
is now ranked 3rd with a 3-2-0 turn.  What's with SLIVERED OAK?  It actually beat 
ALLIANCE's GHOULIA, and walked away with 22 more points from the fight.  Major 
screwup at ALLIANCE.  GHOULIA lost 15 points to SLIVERED OAK.  Some new strategies, 
perhaps?  Maybe GHOULIA will provide more easy wins...  Try as she might, JUNIPER 
wasn't good enough at persuading VENOMOUS CUR to step down from the Duelmaster's 
throne...  Advice to fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!   
     If at first you don't succeed, avoid.  That'll get you in the Spyreports.  How 
well I know the feeling of being in the most avoided team!  Don't fall out of 
practive, ALLIANCE!  The bums at CHRISTMAS CURSES couldn't face the challenges from 
ALLIANCE!  No excuse for that!   
     There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit.  Do you want the fighters 
to walk away, or not?  Who will dare fight ZIPPER, after he returned from the Dark 
Arena?  (For the record 6-3-2 is 63, and has he points) Is it my imagination, or are 
fighters getting younger every day?  To die so young, so gloriously!   
     Well, I'm pretty much through.  You guys need to get back practicing.  All work 
and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter.  Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.
