                                      SPY REPORT

Welcome back to the Spire, where the steel sings, and the ale flows like a river of 
regret! I'm your partially sober correspondent, Huard DePriest, bringing you all the 
bloodied, the bruised, and the bewildered news from turn 472. So, strap in, ya bums, 
and let's get started with all the news that is worth noticing!

Kirin Ichiban of Ale House Mercs took center stage again this turn. He had to prove 
that beer is for more than drinking; it is also for brawling!  Facing off against the 
unpredictable and poorly monikered Tziss of Wicked Martyrs, KI made quick work of the 
fight, leaving Tziss flat on the sands.  With this victory, Kirin Ichiban remains our 
Duelmaster. He is managed by Pauly and gets another opportunity to defend the throne 
in two weeks.

Big Lake Solution holds the dubious honor of being the most avoided team. Perhaps 
folks don't like the "solution" they are offering. If it is math, I can understand the 
aversion.  Meanwhile, Ale House Mercs spent much of their time dodging challenges from 
Den's crew. It was subtle at first but then turned into outright avoidance.  Is this 
strategy or cowardice? The mercs do hold the throne, so we can certainly have a 
debate.  The warrior drawing the most attention (or ire) was Refrigerator Perry of 
Childhood Heroes. Maybe it's his bulk, maybe it's his history, or maybe people want to 
know what's in the Fridge. Either way, he handled the pressure and defeated Kayd the 
Boq. 

The standings have seen some turbulence over the last three turns. Ale House Mercs, 
the previous top team, slipped to third, while Cult of Bacchus seized the top spot 
with a strong performance. Darque Ages made a big leap up the rankings, climbing eight 
spots, while the Roman Republic tumbled, going 1-4 and slipping hard in the rankings. 
Dragonbane Guild also made gains, proving that persistence--and a few well-placed 
sword thrusts--pay off!

Kayd the Boq takes his final bow in the arena and heads off to a new life on the Isle 
of the Eye. His last fight was a rough one, as he fell to the most-challenged 
Refrigerator Pery, but hey, immortality can make us reckless. He gets to leave the 
arena with all his limbs attached and a new lease on endless life.
